Once **[Step 1 — Connect real-time events](/recipes/intercom-tutorial/step-1-connect-real-time-events)** is live, Fin can already *pull* a user's recent activity on demand. Proactive triggers add the other direction: acting on that activity automatically, without waiting for the user to ask.
